FAQ

  • WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS AND DAYS OF AVAILABILITY?

I’m in shop Monday-Wednesday, Friday-Saturday, from 2pm-10pm, and respond to clients and appointments periodically, but mostly on Thursdays and Sundays. Please have patience for response times.

  • HOW LONG SHOULD I AVOID THE SUN?

After getting a tattoo, avoid sun exposure for 2 to 4 weeks to ensure proper healing and reduce fading and complications. Sunlight can irritate healing skin, causing issues like blistering or infection. If outdoors, use a high-SPF sunscreen (at least SPF 30) on the healed tattoo area. Wear protective clothing or seek shade for added protection. Always follow your tattoo artist’s aftercare instructions for optimal results.

  • WHAT ARE THESE BLACK BUBBLES UNDER MY SECOND SKIN?

Ink pouches in recovery bandages enhance healing for fresh tattoos. These pouches release sterile ink or soothing solutions onto the tattooed area, providing moisture and preventing scabbing, which helps maintain color vibrancy. The bandage also shields against contaminants, promoting a sterile environment. Together, they ensure a better healing experience for tattoo enthusiasts while minimizing discomfort.

  • CAN I USE NUMBING CREAM? IF SO, WHAT KIND?

My personal, professional opinion, with the respect I have towards the craft and meaning behind tattoos in all aspects, my recommendation is feel the first one. If from there you realize you cannot physically handle the pain, or if we endeavor into longer sessions that you feel numbing cream may benefit you to sit better, by all means, use it! I will never not tattoo someone if they wear numbing cream. It is, however, important to do your research on brands and how to properly apply the numbing cream. My suggestion is TKTX, make sure it’s applied to a clean, exfoliated area an hour before the tattoo, and saran wrapped to allow the heat to open the pores and let the numbing cream in.

  • DO TATTOOS HURT?

Tattoos can cause varying levels of discomfort, but the experience largely depends on individual pain tolerance, the location of the tattoo, and the size of the design. Generally, areas with more flesh, muscle, or fat tend to hurt less, while areas with less padding, such as the ribs, spine, or joints, can be more sensitive. Most people describe the sensation as a scratching or stinging feeling, which may intensify in more sensitive areas. Preparation, including staying hydrated and avoiding alcohol, can help minimize discomfort. Ultimately, while some pain is expected, many tattoo enthusiasts find the reward of art on their skin worth the momentary discomfort.

  • HOW DO TATTOOS AGE?

Tattoos are a lasting form of self-expression, but like all art, they evolve over time. As the years pass, factors such as skin elasticity, sun exposure, and overall skin health play crucial roles in how tattoos age. The ink may fade or blur due to the body's natural healing processes and environmental influences, with lighter colors often experiencing more significant fading than darker shades. Additionally, the location of the tattoo can impact its longevity; areas of the body that experience more friction or movement may see changes sooner. Regular moisturization and the use of sunscreen are essential in preserving the vibrancy and clarity of a tattoo. Understanding how tattoos age can help individuals make informed decisions about their body art and its long-term care.

  • ARE TATTOO TOUCH UPS FREE?

Yes, the first one is free on all tattoos! My minimum is higher on high fade areas for this reason, taking into account the higher rate of needing touch ups on these areas compared to others. Especially when endeavoring into fineline, I’m a big advocate for less is more when someone’s wanting a lighter tattoo. I’d rather go easy the first pass and touch it up later, than hard and dark and not being able to take it back. Any further touch ups will be done at my minimum or hourly, and any touch ups required due to client negligence (ie. jumping into a lake, or going to the beach that night or next day), will be a $50 fee, so take care of your tattoos!

  • CAN I BRING MY OWN DESIGN?

Absolutely! I welcome your creativity and personal expression. As an artist, I’m able to transform your vision into a stunning piece of body art, ensuring it reflects your unique style. Just send your design or inspiration, and during your online consultation, we'll discuss how to tailor it to fit perfectly on your body. Your satisfaction and individuality are our top priorities. I do not, however, copy exact tattoos or designs created by someone else, unless that design has been purchased through the artist, as a voucher, or with permission.

  • DO YOU DO COVER-UPS?

Yes! I absolutely love transforming old or unwanted tattoos into new works of art. My cover-up tattoo services are designed to help you reclaim your skin and express your individuality. I will work closely with you to understand your vision, ensuring a seamless design that not only conceals the previous ink but also resonates with your personal style. Whether it’s a simple cover or an intricate piece, we focus on quality, creativity, and detail to deliver a stunning result that you can be proud of. All I ask of my clients is to be open to design, size, and material to ensure entire coverage!

  • SHOULD I TIP MY ARTIST? IF SO, HOW MUCH?

This is a question that is frequently asked, debated, and wildly uncomfortable for me to address! But thankfully, my income no longer relies on the generosity of others and I set my own prices, so tips are not EXPECTED. However, they are always appreciated in any amount if you feel as though I deserve more than i’ve charged and gave a tip-worthy tattoo and experience. But no one should EVER feel bad for NOT tipping. Simply, it is ALWAYS appreciated, but never expected from my clients.

  • WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO MY APPOINTMENT?

Preparing for your tattoo appointment is essential for a smooth experience. Here’s a list of items to bring:

Valid ID: Ensure you have a form of identification, such as a driver’s license, to verify your age. Must be 18+ in Georgia.

Comfortable Clothing: Wear loose-fitting clothes that allow easy access to the area being tattooed and can keep you comfortable during the session.

Hydration: Stay hydrated before your appointment. Bring water or a beverage, but avoid alcohol or excessive caffeine.

Snacks: Consider bringing light snacks to keep your energy up, especially for longer sessions.

Payment Method: Be prepared to pay by bringing cash (preferred) or a card (there is a card fee), Venmo, Cashapp, as well as Zelle are also available, and even preferred.

Aftercare Products: While not necessary to bring, consider having aftercare products ready at home, as your artist will provide guidance on how to care for your new tattoo.

Being well-prepared not only helps the process but also enhances your overall experience!
